Alberto Alves is an Associate Professor and President of the Scientific Council at the University of Maia, a member of the Research Center in Sports, Health, and Human Development (CIDESD), and a Coordinator of the ONCOMOVE® program at the Association for Supportive Oncology Care Research (AICSO). He holds a Ph.D. in Physical Activity and Health from the University of Porto and a Master’s degree in Cardiac Rehabilitation from the University of Essex (United Kingdom). He has published numerous scientific articles in national and international journals, as well as various book chapters. He has also served as the principal investigator and a member of research teams in numerous scientific research projects funded through competitive grants. His main interests lie in the preventive and therapeutic effects of physical exercise on chronic diseases, with a particular focus on cardiovascular and oncological diseases.
