He obtained formal training in research design and implementation across Italy, France, and the United States. His training includes a research fellowship in the Breast Oncology Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Cancer Center, advanced biostatistics and programming coursework at the Harvard School of Public Health and through the Harvard Catalyst, and a PhD degree in behavioral sciences and breast cancer survivorship from University Paris-Saclay. His work aims to improve how we assess, predict, and manage long-term treatment-related symptoms among survivors of early-stage breast cancer. Dr. Di Meglio has an expertise in Patient-Reported Outcomes and Quality of Life data, as well as in supportive care and behavioral interventions, particularly in the field of cancer-related fatigue.

Special recognitions and achievements of Dr. Di Meglio include that he was the recipient of a Best ESMO Fellowship Project Award in 2019, a Career Pathway Grant in Symptom Management from Conquer Cancer and Rising Tide Foundation for Clinical Cancer Research in 2020, the Conquer Cancer Foundation Pain and Symptom Management Special Merit Award in 2021, and the University of Padua Award for Advances in Breast Cancer in 2022. He is also among the alumni of the ESMO Leaders Generation Programme.

Dr. Di Meglio is the Principal Investigator or a Co-Investigator of several national and international, academically funded research projects focused on cancer survivorship and related issues. Over the past few years, his research work, particularly the research using real-world CANTO data, led to a number of first-authored or co-authored presentations in the ASCO Annual Meeting, SABCS, ESMO Breast Cancer Congress, and ESMO Congress, as well as to original publications, including in Annals of Oncology and the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

Dr. Di Meglio is committed to numerous continuous teaching and mentorship activities dedicated to oncologists in training and junior faculty. Finally, he provides clinical care to patients with breast cancer across the disease spectrum in the breast outpatient clinic at Gustave Roussy.
